  10. There has been some confusion surrounding the availability of my new book,
  11. "More Effective C++."  As of last week, the book physically exists, and
  12. some bookstores now have it in stock.  For many bookstores, however, the
  13. shipment is still in transit.  If your local bookstore normally stocks C++
  14. books, and especially if they stock "Effective C++," it is very likely that
  15. "More Effective C++" will show up on their shelves within the next two
  16. weeks.

  18. I'll be posting more information about the book early next week, and in
  19. that posting I'll describe how you can win a free autographed copy: I'm
  20. giving 30 copies away to thank the participants of the Usenet C++
  21. newsgroups for teaching me so much during the last few years.  In the
  22. meantime, you can get information about the book, including significant
  23. extracts from it, from the Web site http://www.aw.com/cp/mec++.html.  The
  24. corresponding FTP site is ftp.aw.com (the files are in the directory
  25. cp/mec++).
